Trileaf implements a ground-based approach to performing Migratory Bird Evaluations. Equipped with a high-powered spotting scope, a qualified biologist will conduct a ground-based survey, and if possible determine the bird species and the presence or absence of any eggs or flightless young in the nest. Photo documentation is obtained using a technique called digiscoping.
Upon completion of the evaluation, Trileaf provides a report containing our findings, opinions and conclusions as well as recommendations for any proposed construction, maintenance or modification activities based on the behaviors witnessed and the time period in the nesting season. In addition, our evaluation reports include photographs and inactive nest removal permit (if applicable). Field notes are also available upon request.
